Pollution
The Nature Balance 2008 reports on the water quality of the North Sea, Wadden Sea and delta waters in relationship to the present policy. The indicator 'nature quality' is used to determine the amount of present biodiversity in relation to a natural system. The authors conclude that despite improvement over the past decade, the water quality and thereby the nature quality has not yet sufficiently recovered for sustainable preservation of nature.
