Work vessels

Working vessels are built for performing specific activities. Examples are ships for maintaining or laying buoy, pipes and cables, lifting and crane ships, tugboats, surveillence vessels, fishing boats and dredging boats. The ships which supply the offshore platforms at sea with materials and crew (suppliers) are also considered work vessels. These ships are often also suitable as tugboat and for re-setting platform anchors; they are then referred to as anchor handling tugs.
