Landscape elements
The term 'landscape' refers to a respectable region that can be viewed from one spot. Landscape elements are components that make the landscape what it is. Examples are: a road, a church steeple, woods, a canal. Terpen, duck decoys and garden walls are examples of local landscape elements that are characteristic for the coastal region and the islands. Information on garden walls (tuinwallen) and drinking holes on Texel, old sea dikes in North Groningen and Zeeland and creeks are also dealt with here.
