National Institute for Coastal and Marine Management/RIKZ
The RIKZ was a subdivision of Rijkswaterstaat (RWS)and advised the Ministry of Public Works in the area of issues concerning the coast and sea. Managing the seas and coasts has always been an important task of Rijkswaterstaat. Since the autumn of 2007, part of the RIKZ has merged with the new Water Division. Another part has joined Deltares. This division of RWS was established for a better integration for managing marine and inland waters.
