Harriers

Harriers are slender, reasonably large birds of prey. Their round face is sort of owl-like. They eat mammals, reptiles and birds. The Dutch name for harrier is 'kiekendief', or 'chick thief', referring to their nature of grabbing young birds from their nest. Of the three harrier species, two play an important role in the coastal area: the hen harrier and the marsh harrier.
