Fish
There are around 180 different species of fish living in the Netherlands. More than half of these species are only found in the sea. Sea fish are not usually able to swim in fresh water nor freshwater fish in the sea. However, there are species that swim from fresh to salty water or the other way around. For example, salmon grow up in salt water but migrate upriver to reproduce. Eel grow up in rivers and ditches but migrate to the sea to reproduce.
