Coal fish
Coal fish (also called saithe) resembles whiting a lot, however the lower jaw sticks out by the coal fish while the upper jaw sticks out by the whiting. The coal fish can grow to 1.3 meters (averages 60-90 centimeters and reach an age of 25 years. They often form large schools on or just above the sea floor, down to a maximum of 300 meters. Coal fish ranks number two on a world scale of the most important types for the fisheries. Only anchovies (from the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans together) are caught more often.
