Serpant star
Serpant stars are brittlestars. During the day, they often hide under stones or in the sand. Using their five arms, they crawl over the sea floor during the night, in search of food. Although rarely witnessed, if you frighten a serpant star it can swim away. Serpant stars are common in the North Sea coastal waters and the Wadden Sea, down to depths of 10 to 200 meters. They prefer muddy sand bottoms.
