Molluscs

There are four groups of molluscs which play an important role in the marine environment: the bivalves, the Lepidochitnoa cinerus, the snails and the cuttlefish. It's due to this animal group that we find shells on the beach: valve halves from the bivalves, snail houses from the snails and carapaces from the cuttlefish.
