Lily family

Plants belonging to the lily family have either bulbs or rootstocks. These fleshy bodies are used for storing food reserves. The leaves are usually long and narrow, the flowers are colorful and striking. Many of these species are cultivated. Because they have sufficient reserves to last the entire winter, they return every year.
