The Zwin
The Zwin is a protected nature area located on the border of The Netherlands and Vlaanderen Belgium. It is surrounded between dunes and a high dike, but is connected to the North Sea via a channel. It is a true slufter region, similar to the nature area on Texel named the Slufter. However, the history of the Zwin differs with the Slufter in that it used to be the entrance to the Middle Age town of Brugge.
