Texel

Texel is the largest of all of the Dutch Wadden Islands, with the greatest number of visitors by far. The total surface area of Texel is 58,704 hectare. The largest part consists of water, more specifically 42,050 hectare outer waters (coastal sea) and 328 hectare inner waters (ponds and the like). Land-wise, Texel is 16,328 hectares. Texel counted more than 13,000 residents in 2000 and around 45,000 tourists staying overnight per day.
