Ecomare

Are you interested learning more about nature on Texel, tough beachcombers or what it was like to live on the island during the war?  Do you want to climb the lighthouse or dive into Texel's past? No problem! There are several museums on the island, each with their own stories about the past and present. Ecomare, Kaap Skil, the Museum of Antiquities, Texel Museum of Culture and History, the Museum of Aviation and War and Flora, a Shipwreck and Beachcombing Museum welcome you with open arms. The newest asset to the Texel tree of museums is the Whalers house in Den Hoorn. This house is still inhabited, but is regularly open so that visitors can relive the atmosphere that prevailed centuries ago in a whaler's family.
