Vlieland

Vlieland is the smallest inhabited Wadden Island in the Netherlands. It is the only island where the dunes border the Wadden Sea, without a polder in between. There is no farming anymore on Vlieland, but the residents still have a tradition for keeping goats. The Vliehors, the large sand plain on the western end, is used as a military training ground.
