Lower secondary and vocational education
Active outdoors with your school. Discover nature on Texel under guidance of an experienced Ecomare guide. Self-discovery and active nature experience are central. At this level, we also emphasize the pupils’ skills, practical applications of the teaching materials and self-motivation. You find the list of outdoor programs and excursions for lower secondary and vocational education below. Ecomare makes learning fun!
Discover the mudflats
The bottom of the Wadden Sea is teeming with life! Via various activities, the pupils discover what it is that makes the wadden region so unusual. So unusual that it has been proclaimed a World Heritage site. All sorts of subjects are covered: migratory birds, ebb and flood, benthic life. You also go fishing with a large dragnet. During a wad program you are actually walking on the bottom of the sea; a unique experience. Even better: you don’t need to stay on the paths. We use push-nets to discover which animals live in these waters.
Discover De Slufter
The sea has free play in the Slufter. Join a discovery trip through this fantastic marsh! We literally experience the Slufter with all its unusual vegetation using all our senses. Even better: you don’t need to stay on the paths. You can jump from the dune tops or trudge through the gullies. We use push-nets to discover which animals live in these waters.
A program costs € 170,- for a maximum group of 30 pupils.
