The bottom of the Wadden Sea is full of life! This nature reserve is so extraordinary that it\u2019s been declared a World Heritage site. During mudflat hiking you\u2019re actually walking on the bottom of the sea; a unique experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Two locations<\/h2>\n

For Experience the Mudflats (eventueel: Experience the Wad) you can choose from two locations: the Mokbaai at the ferry harbour, and the Wadden dyke north of Oosterend. At the latter, near pumping station De Krassekeet, we will bring fishing rods to fish for crabs. Without a hook, but with a peg! In both locations of course we will also hike the mudflats, equipped with push nets. Whilst having fun with nets, rods, and hands, students discover which animals reside in and on the mudflats.<\/p>\n

Costs and times<\/h2>\n

An outdoor programme amounts to \u20ac190,- for a group of maximum 30 students. The programme lasts 1.5 \u2013 2 hours.<\/p>\n

Planning and booking<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s important to book a school activity well in advance. The times when you can participate in this programme depend on the times of low tide.
