Ecomare is a part of the Stichting Texels Museum, together with Museum Kaap Skil, the House of Antiquities and the Lighthouse. The foundation has its own website<\/a> where you can find annual reports and policy plans. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Museum Kaap Skil<\/h2>\n

Museum Kaap Skil<\/a> is located near the harbor of Oudeschild. It is about life by and at sea. About shipping, beachcombing, fisheries, Texel in the Golden Age and underwater archeology. A museum full of tough stories and exciting adventures. In the open air museum, you can see how people lived and worked in earlier times. A versatile museum where you can spend hours wandering around!<\/td>\n

Oudheidkamer<\/h2>\n

The Oudheidkamer<\/a> (House of Antiquities) is the smallest museum in the oldest house on Texel. It is located in the center of Den Burg. The Old Holland decor takes you back to the days of your grandparents. There is a different temporary exhibit every year. The House of Antiquities is open between April 1 and November 1.<\/td>\n

Lighthouse<\/h2>\n

Climb the striking red lighthouse<\/a> located at the northern tip of Texel. At the top, around 45 meters above sea level, you get a tremendous view of the Wadden Sea and Texel. The inside of the tower dates back to 1864. After the lighthouse was heavily damaged in the Second World War, a new outer wall was built around the busted tower. At the fourth level, you can walk between the walls and see the bullet holes in the old wall!<\/td>\n
